Now, is the president trying to tell the nation that he did not know the root cause of the academic freedom rift when he was taking to the podium to announce more than once that Mukhitho will not “apologise” to the lectures come hell or high water?. Is he telling us that he was making his comments from an uninformed perspective without knowing the root cause of the rift?

Is the president in other ways telling us that he has withdrawn whatever he said about Mukhitho not apologizing because by the time he made the remarks he did not know the root cause of the university stand- off. And that he now wants his commission to establish the root cause of the impasse before he makes more decisions based on hearsay and assumptions.
